Wisconsin River Meats on the Food Network!

See our featured segment on the Food Network’s television hit series “Unwrapped” Episode CW 1901 titled “Summer Snacks”

All of us here at Wisconsin River Meats were honored to have a national television network visit us for a day of filming and interviewing.

The Food Network’s television hit series “Unwrapped” contacted us about airing a special based on summer snacks. Naturally they thought that summer sausage would be a nice compliment to their show.

The Food Network, based out of Littleton, Colorado, sent a film crew to Mauston to participate in a typical production day at Wisconsin River Meats. The focus for the filming was our homemade garlic summer sausage, the most popular and
successful sausage that we have produced.

Christiana Arvetis, a free lance and Emmy nominated producer from Chicago, IL along with cameraman Mark Traverso from Wilmette, IL and sound technician Keegan Greyson from Plant City, FL arrived around 8am. They shot footage and audio on all aspects of making summer sausage throughout the entire day. Most of Wisconsin River Meats employees and management took part in the filming. As the day progressed, the film crew was impressed by the speed and quality of the process by which the employees made the summer sausage. From the basic lean meats and ingredients used to grinding, stuffing, cooking, smoking and packaging, the whole day’s event made for an interesting experience thoroughly enjoyed by all.
